Arriving Home...
The first few days
will be a little
stressful for your
Ragdoll kitten as he
has been used to
being with his
mother and siblings
and suddenly they
are not there
anymore. It takes
time to adjust to a
new home and your
patience and love
are greatly needed
at this time.
Please limit your
new kittens stress
the first few days
with a quiet
adjustment time. A
stressed
overestimated kitten
can become sick.
Your main concern
for the first few
days is letting the
kitten adjust
quietly and make
sure he or she is
eating a drinking.
When you arrive home
you need to confine
your Ragdoll kitten
to a small room such
as a small bathroom
or bedroom with his
carrier, a bed, toy,
litter box, dry food
and water. Please
leave dry food and
fresh water down at
all times.
After a 7 days and
after his well baby
check, then you may
allow your Ragdoll
kitten access to 1
new room at a time.
Feeding...
Your Ragdoll kitten
is eating
Science diet kitten
hard food and
Wellness can food -
chicken flavor..
Both of these can be
purchased at
PETCO.
Leave the hard food
out at all times.
For the soft food,
your baby is eating
three times a day,
about 1 small spoon
full each. Continue
the three times a
day soft food for
about 2 weeks, then
cut back to twice a
day. Then continue
the twice a day
feeding for another
2 weeks, then cut
back to once a day.
It is ok, to give
once a day feedings
of soft food for
life.
Vaccinations...
Your Ragdoll kitten
has received two
3-way vaccinations (panleukopenia
(FPV), feline viral
rhinotracheitis
(FHV-1), feline
calicivirus (FCV)
vaccination). Your
kitten will then be
due for his next
shot 3 to 4 weeks
from the date of the
last shot. You will
have received a shot
record with your
kitten, this is
something you need
to discuss and set
up with your vet.
Litter Box...
Your Ragdoll kitten
has been toilet
trained using a
litter box with a
top. Your Ragdoll
kitten has been
using
Cats Pride
(non-clumping).
We use
ExquisiCat
liners with our
kittens. The best
place we find them
is PETSMART
Grooming...
We recommend a
weekly combing and
brushing for
maintenance of your
kitten’s coat,
however if you wish
to groom more
regularly your cat
will love the
attention. You could
groom your cat while
watching television
or sitting by the
fire. It is an
enjoyable time for
both cat and human.
A simple large
tooth metal comb
works great for
weekly brushing.
